My International Penfriends
eTwinning project
eTwinning project
Project description
We like having friends all over the
world. We want to exchange letters with our peers from other countries, to
learn about their cultures and traditions and to practice our English and ITC
skills to communicate in real life situations.
Aims:
Students
will learn to:
·
Improve
their foreign language skills by writing letters in English
·
Exchange
letters with their peers from the partner schools
·
Use
proper language in communication;
·
Improve
their self-esteem
·
Develop
positive attitude and tolerance towards people who are different from them
·
Learn
about their partners’ cultures and way of life.
Students
& their parents will share experiences.
Teachers
will exchange best practices with their peers from the partner schools.
Target
group:
students aged 8-15
Work process
The
students will exchange letters on the themes agreed by the teachers from the
partner schools.
Each
child will exchange letters with at least one child from each partner school.
Due to
the fact that the school year dates differ from one country to another
(including holidays), that teachers need some time to scan and send the
letters, and print the letters from the partners, to make students more
comfortable and less stressed by deadlines, we have agreed that they will send
one letter per month, on the themes the teachers have chosen for them.
The letters can be illustrated by students.
The letters can be illustrated by students.
Communication
between partners will be held in English via Twin space, project blog, Facebook
group, WhatsApp, Skype.
Activities
will be held in schools.
Students
can meet their peers & exchange greetings & experiences using English
to communicate, in video meetings, via Skype or other apps.
The Romanian team will make the project blog
& all partner teachers will post the letters and articles on it, presenting
their teams' activities, as well as feedback from the participants.
Local community representatives can be involved in the project.
